Golden Birthday

Today was Sean's golden birthday - meaning he turned 28 on the 28th. When I was younger, my mom made a big deal about golden birthdays, but I don't recall anything extraordinary every happening. It was just something fun to say. Anyway, Blake and I made strawberry cupcakes with strawberry frosting and sprinkles, white chocolate pretzels, and Blake picked out a fun card from Target. I think it was fun for Sean, but more for Blake - he loves doing things for daddy. Sean's going to hate me for posting this picture :)

36 Weeks

Yesterday was a sad day for me. I was doing laundry, so all of my maternity pants were in the dirty clothes. I have been able to still wear some of my non-maternity pants. But when I went to put pants on yesterday, nothing fit. I even undid the button on one pair and it was just completely uncomfortable. It was just kind of depressing. I have one more month left and thought I could make it. Oh well...I guess I'll just have to wash a little more often :)

Bathroom Completion

We finally got the bathroom done - a full week later. I knew it would take all week, but had no idea how much work it really was going to be. I'm so glad to finally be done.....at least with this project. We (my mom & I) took down some wallpaper, but then mom painted over the wallpaper with oil based Kilz, then we textured, Kilz'd again, then painted the blue. The cabinets were another issue. I don't know if any of you have painted much with black, but it's not the easiest thing to do. I bought the highest quality paint I could and had tons of trouble with it drying. We started painting the black last Wednesday or Thursday and it's still tacky to the touch today. I e-mailed the manufacturer and they said that black can take 7-10 days to completely dry. We'll see. Anyway, I love the way it turned out and I'm glad to have my bathroom back!

Bathroom Redo

So my mom is back from vacation and has this week off before school starts, so she offered to help me with one more project in my house. I have the living room, hallway (huge project) and the master bath left, so I decided on the bathroom. Right now it is not my taste, floral, paisley wallpaper. We are texturing/painting over the wallpaper, so it should be much calmer and nicer in there. I am planning on painting the cabinets black, although Sean said it would be the saddest day of his life if he came home and had black bathroom cabinets. I think I've been talking about it long enough that he's resigned himself to the fact that I usually get my way. I told him there were much worse things to be sad about that we could do to the house :) Anyway, here are some before pictures...I'll post the after pictures when we get done.

New toilets

AFTER
BEFORE

It's sad when you get excited about having new toilets in your house. When we moved in about 2 months ago, the master bath and kid's bath had kind of ugly, brown toilets. We thought they were fine, but they are absolute water guzzlers. It takes like 15 minutes after you flush for it to fill up and be ready to go again. I'm pretty sure they were original to the house and frankly, they were just disgusting! So, I have the plumber here and we're getting new toilets! Yeah!! They look really good and we can be more up with the times. These new toilets are awesome....I'll spare you all the details. Here is a picture of the boys new one - before and after. The before picture is before we moved in.

Sweet Boys

Blake & Brody can be sweet together sometimes. This morning, Brody wanted to watch Yo Gabba Gabba, so I turned it on in my room. Blake soon joined us and they were cute just laying there together (cause it doesn't happen very often).

Doctor Visit

I went to the doctor today and everything was fine. I lost 1/4 pound, which is good because I gained 4 pounds 2 weeks ago. The baby sounded and felt fine, so I'm now supposed to pre-admit at the hospital in the next 2 weeks. That only tells me that we're getting closer.

I'm having issues with picking out a name. We've sort of decided on Gavin, but it's not set in stone and I'm really wondering if we should go with a "B" name. Unfortunately, Julianne has taken all of the other cute ones :) It's such a stressful job to pick out names. His middle name will definitely be Davis after Sean's mom, but this first name business is driving me crazy. And even if I come up with something really cute, Sean never likes it (go figure).

Cute blog

So, everyone I know has really cute blogs. Honestly, I don't have time (or want to spend time) on blogging, but I might as well do a little bit here and there. I've spent several hours trying to decide how to decorate and got Sean's help with the html part. Anyway, since it's almost been a year since I last tried this, here's to another year (hopefully with more posts)!

Here's a fairly recent picture of the boys. I need to get better at taking pictures. They grow up too fast!
